The use of blogs is motivating for students. Using them with student who have written expression deficits add the fun compelling why to be "good enough" to see something that they have written in print.

I am sold on using blogs in school. We are entering the world of 21st century kids. We just had a technology class at my school and we shared a lot of great ideas for classroom blogs. There are so many ways to excite the kids using blogs in every subject possible! It is a wonderful way to encourage writing in any class.
In history, I will regularly ask students to watch a Youtube clip at home and comment on it in the blog. You can embed the clip into the blog. This could be used to introduce a lesson or as enrichment.

I like the idea of blogging, but feel that it may be too overwhelming for the administrative staff to keep up with. Our school staff is incredible and do so much already. They are huge on using technology, but of course only by picking and choosing who gets it and what is allowed to be used. I have requested additional technology in the past, but it has always gone to the classroom teacher. I kind of empathize with the administrative staff because they are responsible for everyone - students and teachers alike.
